Nest.--Place, In a grassy slough. Size, about 3 inches across Composed of fine slough grass bent over from all directions to form an open space in the water--the nest proper being a small quantity of straws and grass arranged in a circle in the center, raising the eggs about an inch above the water. [accompanied by drawing of nest] Remarks, While I was near the nest a large flock of Terns flew overhead screaming, sometimes darting quite close to my head
