Eastford, Conn. about 3/4 of a mile west of my house.
Nest in a swampy, wet woods. It was by the side of an old log & very rotten stump, & so raised up from the watery ground. The cavity had been scratched out by the bird; was considerable [sic] deep, & lined with dry leaves, with a few feathers from the parent bird intermixed; the whole being from an inch to an inch & a half thick. Was about 3/4 of a mile from my house.
