when I learned the price that I would have to pay I was completely discouraged, and was half amind to sell them but I hope you will forget the charges you paid if the apples are worth as much. The reason I did not pay the charges was because I wanted the money to bye rubers undershirts &c. The white apples are Gates the largest red are Boardmens Pie and the rest are Baldwins in all six bushels. I am glad your apples at home were picked in season and think that you get the work done very cheap if Mr. S.- is a good worker. How many did you have, and do the potatoes turn out well. As for the peaches, (though I am obliged to you for thinking of me,) you needent send. them I have all that I can wish here, fruit &c, halibat hering tirkies chickens fresh beef &c. are common here. "Aunt Emmy is a good cook" but she uses too much
