if you move away as I think you ought it would be better to Sell at $1500- than keep the place. I don't propose to sell until you know where James will tend College and that you can get a place to live in there. You speak about "sacrificing so many" of my "best years". Haven't I said I was urging this place as a matter of economy &c so you needn't give me any credit of being a voluntary sacrafice. Besides a man's years are not good for much until he is thirty years old. I don't propose to educate the children to bear the expense myself, but merely to supply what the home resources lack of being ample. This I estimate at the expense of keeping one child in school or $300- a year. I haven't the slightest idea of being a self-sacrafice, but mean to take care of myself in a generous (Selfish) manner. I hope James will be able to begin college at the begining of the next collegiate year or next Aug. or Sep. You better talk with Mrs. Grant about Oberlin and how you could get along there. Did you get an abundance of good wood before bad weather commenced. I don't know as I will stay here next winter but think I better prepare for it and have a good overcoat in the
