You speak of Mr. Pearsole having written me. Tell him I did not receive his letter or I should have replied at once. Ask him to write me again He could not have believed me discourteous enough not to reply, as I would be only too glad to write him. I wrote to Sam Holliday not long since. The editorial excursion of which I wrote mother in my last started last tuesday. the issue for which I gave up going has not yet been decided. We expect something definite this week. The dry weather is continuing. Cloudy at this writing but no rain. Write me the time you expect to go to Ann Arbor. I hope you are enjoying your visit at home. I am thinking Watt is right about cultivation improving trees. Am not sure but the fresh seeds of chestnut beech and sugar maple better be sent this fall. It is probable I can get all but the beech trees here in the spring With love to all Goodbye John
