Marks and Clark went to Washington to be examined for a commission. 12 Virginia in camp with the 34th...12 Va. and 34th..with the Batt. formed line of battle on Boliver Heights. Baggage ordered to the rear. On Boliver pass trail. Weather very cold 3 men of 1st Brigade froze to death. [8th?] Army Corps arrived in H F. Fears of an attack by Early. SATURDAY 2. The 34th Regt. Mustered in. The 6th army corps went to Charles.Town. Still under marching orders. Weather extremely cold. marching M Marvin Brockway Hancock mass. SUNDAY 3. Company inspection in AM. Dress-parade in Pm. Col. Wells congratulatory order in relation to the expedition read to the 34th.., Weather warmer.
