February, FRIDAY 12, 1864 The 34th.. called up about 3 o clock in the morning stacked arms in the streets and held ourselves in readiness until day-light. On guard at the Shanandoah bridge. (A train of cars thrown off the track and robbed near Duffield Station, Karnysville ) SATURDAY 13. Came off guard. Co. drill in AM. Co. driew clothing. driew one blouse. Weather pleasant. (Rev M M Longly presented me with a testament.) SUNDAY 14. Co Inspection in AM. Dress-Parade in PM. Rev M M Longly addressed the Regt. on dress-parade: and also preached at the Lockwood house. Weather windy.
