April MONDAY 18, 1864 Started from our camp in the woods this morning at 7 o'clock and at about 10 o'clock we were on our old camp'ground near Martinsburg. In PM our A tents came. Weather warm and pleasant. TUESDAY 19. Went on Provost guard in Martinsburg and releived a maryland Regt. that were doing provost duty On post in the prison. weather cool. Wrote a letter to Adelia in the Christian [Com?] WEDNESDAY 20. Came off Provost guard this morning some delay about releiving guard, Resulting perhaps from a too free use of Liquor in Camp Yestarday.
