July, Saturday 23, 1864 [blank] Sunday 24. Left camp at 8 o'clock, and went to Fisher Hill on picket Went back to camp for our knapsacks and took out what we wanted and sent the rest of the stuff back to Camp. Cobb at Martinsburg; We then returned to our post arriving there about M. Some thunder during the day but at night we had a shower and a considerable sharp lightning. Saw old Mr. Fisher and talked with him this AM. He said he had lived here since 1813 and that Fisher Hill took its name from him; was in the war of 1812 MONDAY 25. [blank]
