to do our own housework. the most of the folks here are strangers to me I have been watching all day to day to see if there would not somebody come into camp that I knew the most of Burlington is in here to day ladies and all from the looks but there was not a soul come in that I knew except [Ely?] Todd. Cotton is here with us he is in a different regiment to what we are he is in Col. Lauman's regiment we are in McDowals. Mat and Almer is in our regiment Henry Saunders is at home now he started home yesterday to see the folks we expect him back tomorrow or next day. I expect you have been looking for my likeness ever since I left home I have thought about it agood many times but I have not had it taken yet I have not very much chance we dont get to go to town very often and when we do the officers are with us we are shut
