right on over into Iowa and I saw a horse or two that was shot and severall other things to tedious to mention we were well treated while we were there the citizens done the best they could for us we didnt want for anythi while we were there. I would not be surprised if we had to go back again before long it is rumord that they have a notion of attacting the town again. well I must quit writing I have such an awful pen and poor place to write I got Janes letter afew minutes ago it is the first that I have got this is the sixth letter that I have writen home. Jane said that she had not got my likeness yet I dont know why it is because I sent them both together by Ezra Cone I dont expect he has had achance to send it down there yet jane said that you sent me a paper. I have not seen anything of it yet but I would like to see one once in awile nothing more at present Oliver Boardman
