a few words more. I wrote this letter this morning when I was out on picket guard I had every thing in it then that was worth mentioning and a good eal more but this evening just about sundown we were called off of picket to march, we got marching orders we leave here at five oclock in the morning but I don't know anything about where we are going to but I expect we will go up the river as the secesh are pretty bad up that way. well they called us into camp tonight and paid us off that is they paid us what was due for amonth and ahalf it's about seventeen dollars and thirty cents apeice but it was not just exactly gold and silver but I expect it is just as good we each one of us got fifteen dollars in bank bills united states bank. the rest we got in got in silver. Dave Cooper and Joseph Goodwin starts for home tomorrow. Samuel Whitney one of the boys that we feft sick (Vertically, from bottom left:-) at St Louis came into camp tonight he says the boys are all getting well if you cant understand this letter just tell me and I will write another when I have more time
