looked like but I didnt see much but a few old fashioned houses I dont think there has been much improvement made here for the last twenty years from the looks. I believe I liked the looks of nature's work better than that of art. flowers were in full bloom in the gardens and plum bushes are also in bloom and vegetation generaly is far more forward than I expected to see it until we got farther south. I believe I like the looks of the Tenneseeans better than I did the Missourians although they wear the same uniform that is yaller jeans but I believe they are better looking and more inteligent but I have not seen much of them yet I mout be deceived. there is agood many of them in town to day this move has rather surprised the natives they have gathered in from all parts of the Country to see the fleet. there seems to be considerable union feeling here among them there is agreat many of them that wants to join our army if they can get the chance
