any place only here the scouts had several skrimishes with the rebel pickets they ventured so close the first morning that we past up here that our gun boats fired afew shots to clear them out of the way but there was nobody hurt I guess the scouts killed afew I believe and they found out that there was alarge force of them back afew miles and it seemed as though they wanted or had ahalf anotion to attack us so day before yesterday morning early our regiment started out to give them achanc we went about four or five miles and halted there was several of our regiments back of us but not in sight I believe the calculation was to draw them on but they didnt seem inclined to bite at any rate we were ordered back to the boats yesterday to unload our things and fix for marching. direct your letters to St Louis for I have no idea were we are going to (Vertically, from bottom right:-) the most of the fleet is going with us Oliver
