he was not shot dead and managed to get away from them throug in the brush and by the help of some of his Companions got to Camp but died the next day he was hit with two buck shot one entering his lungs. since then the boys stays in Camp alittle better I saw five Guerrilles over there afew mornings ago. they were after some runaway niggers they come on to the niggers just as they got to the rivier oposite our Camp they shot six times killed one darkey got the rest except one who hapened to be a good swimmer and got away he is in our Regt now Cooking for some of the Companies
