Nov 25th.. Memphis Tenn 1862 Dear Sister This is the last oportunity for writing that I will have perhaps for several days or may be weeks. I did think I would write a few good long letters before we left here but I didnt think we were going quite so soon. we leave here in the morning bright and early I think most of the Command here is going. I cant tell exactly which way we go. but I suppose toward Holly Springs first. the boys are in good spirits tonight everything is in an uproar so I can hardly write. I ought to have written this today but I was up all night last night on guard and didnt feel much like writing today. besides I had to fix up for our march. good many of the boys rather than to carry so much load sent some of their clothes home. mostly overcoats. our overcoats are heavy but I
