Our Colonel McDowal has resigned and gone home he has been acting Brigadier Genl for over a year but he couldnt get the place so he resigned. Well it gives our Lt Col [Corse?] a chance now he will be our Col right away I think and more than that he will be a Brigadier before six months Well I must bring my letter to a close. Write as often and as much as you are a mind too Oliver Boardman
