We had picked up horses and mules enough to have alarge advance and rear guard so that only those that strayed agood ways off the road were disturbed April 24th Left Camp about 6 A.M. We had captured horses and mules enough since leaving the junction to mount about ahundred of our boys that were the nearest give out. We arrived at Moscow between one and two oclock and just in advance of the other Regts that went via Collierville. We got our dinners and rested till nearly four oclock then started for the junction 13 miles distant. We had already marched 18 or 20 miles that day. Those of us that were on foot taking the Rail Road the horse and mulesmen the wagon road. After we had marched along the Rail Road about five miles we saw the cars coming from Memphis we flaged them down climed on Arrived at Camp about sundown. April 26th 2nd Iowa
