to within amile of Senatoba where we Camped during the night. May 24th Sunday. Left Camp at 7 Took the Hernando Road Several companies sent out during the day to bring in stock of all kinds. Company E camped in Hernando four miles in advance of the Column May 25th About Eight oclock Column reached Hernando Turned our Stock over and joined the Regt. about 2 P.M. I left the Column with squad of eight men for the purpose of procuring horses and mules We went west of the road two or three miles then towards Germantown where the Column was heading at when we left it We came into the road 4 or 5 miles south of Germantown. Found the Regt had turned east going towards Collierville 5 or 6 miles back. We then struck across the country to Colierville where we arrived about 10 oclock at night and reported to Col Lumis Commander of Post. But didnt find our
