within 3 steps on the levee. The buildings, yard, fence, etc of the plantation are only about 100 feet from the levee, one tree outside the yard almost touches the boat. Everything has been green here for 6 weeks, Now my dear wife what shall I say to you individually and collectively to asservate my love. I know, Thou knowest & He knows - who knows all things - that I do most sincerely love you & the children. and my main prayer is that we may just live many years to enjoy it (love) together. I could bear the loss of all property, a limb or two, or any thing else almost than the loss of one of the circle. One empty chair, or Miss one laugh, or cry even of the whole that it did take 8 months ago to make a family. Take good care of yourself & the children. Well I must stop. Orange is not sailing & I should have been if I had felt well enough this morning, I'll send $5.00 this time. Let me know every time whether you receive it and whether you rec'd the letter with the 2.00 or not. Love to the friends who care for me & heaps for you & the children. Your own A.R.B
