DeWitt, Iowa, June 13th, 1900 Dear Mabel: Yours rec'd & always glad to hear from you. Hope you'll have a pleasant visit & a safe ride -- Dont let the Horse run away with you two giddy girls: Give my respects to Miss Mand - you know I saw her home once -- I have no news to tell from abroad for I have rec'd no letter for a few days from any one. Nor is there any special news here-- Things move on in the usual way. There has been a crowd going to Davenport to day the state encampment of the G.A.R. - I believe I did get a letter from Ida - since I wrote to you --There was no news in it of note - They were all well. The store was most built & finished - Well as I have no news I'll "dry up" - by sending love to you and good wishes to Every body -- Your loving old Pa - A.R. Butler
