they say we are going into winter quarters at memphis 5 nothing strange going on to day only we are going up the river 6 we are laying up for wood Child got a letter last night the news is that burnside has been defeated with a los of 13000 men 7 we are going to start up the river again. 8 here we are oposite the (Upside-down, at bottom of page:-) SATURDAY, December 22nd, 1855.
