throw shels every night. it is a nice sight to see them go through the air 4 fireing as usual some gets kiled and some whounded every day the rebels expect a force in our rear that will liberate them from vicksburg but I think that we have force enuf to stand all they can bring 5 things progres as usual nothing strange today 6 Some prisoners taken to day our men stil advance with breast works 7 there was a fight at Miligans bend our boys drove
