I helped set up some of the gabions 10 rods from the rebel entrenchments I was as far in advance as the pickets I told them if they seen any rebels advance to tel me I had only just got to work when the picket told me to get down quick I did so and as soon as I got down our picket fired and a rebel fell there was several rebels sculking in advance of their pits so that if we exposed our selves to pick us of when it all got quit again I was gust
