champion hills they burned the wagons and paroled the men Johnson evackuated Jackson by way of pearl river our forces crosed 12 miles below but dont think can over take them they put torpedoes in the road and some of the boys got whounded but we took the rest out 17 our brigade crosed pearl river on the 19 we have to keep 2 brigades between here and black river there are so many guileries on the road 18 took some parole prisoners with arms they are at clinton are to be shot to day one oficer and 7 privates 19 all quies today
