There the owl squirrel possum the fox and the [coon?] In concert all [laughed?] sang with a family glee As they sung without books, as they sung without books We wont go home till morning &c Receipt for Cora's lady cake. 3 cups of flour 1 " butter 2 " " sugar 1 " " milk whites of 6 eggs 1 teaspoon full cream tartar 3 " " " almond ext. 1/2 " " " carb. soda dissolved in a little cold water beat the butter & sugar light then add flour then cream tartar then soda, then milk add lastly eggs.
