To make Rice Bread Boil a pint of rice soft; add a pint of leaven; then 3 qts of flour; put it to rise in a tin or earthan vessel untill it has risen sufficiently; divide it into 3 loaves and bake it. Spruce Beer Pour 8 gallons of cold water into a bowl. and then boiling 8 gallons more, put that in also wich will make it the right temperature - add 2 lbs of molasses, with above half a pound of essence of spruce, and on its getting a little cooler
