Melted Butter. Excellent. 2 oz of butter in a cup of water let it boil for a few minutes, then add 1 teaspoonfull of flour that has been mixed to a thin paste in a very little water. Stir it all the time & let it all boil again a short time.. Good Gravy soup. Put four quarts of cold water upon bones or meat with 2 onions, carrots, celery & spice. Continue adding water as it boils away for 12 hours till reduced to half the quantity--then strain it off. Before warming
