put into the oven, until almost baked enough; then lay lightly & equally over the top, the whites of 3 eggs beaten as for meringues, adding 4 heaped table spoonfull of sifted sugar, & then bake till of a light brown like meringues -- Serve immediately. Meringues The whites of 2 eggs 1 1/2 oz of powdered white sugar the eggs to be beaten by themselves in the open air to a froth, then the sugar added quickly & stirred in. When sufficiently stiff, drop it in a Clean baking tin, about the size of [cream?] pieces
