Date Cake 1 cup evap milk 1/8 tsp salt 1 tlbs vinegar 1/2 cup butter 1 3/4 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1 tsp soda 1 egg 1/2 tsp cloves 1 lb. dates 1 tsp cinn. 1 cup nuts Add vinegar to evap. milk. Sift flour, then measure. Resift with soda, spices and salt. Cream butter, add sugar and cream until sugar granuals are almost dissolved. Add beaten egg then dry ingredients, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add sliced dates and chopped nuts with last few stirs. Pour into a loaf pan that has been lined with wax paper. Bake in oven 350º for 1 hour. Mrs. Rose Zvonar Troop Committee
