Lemon Nut Refrigator Cookies 1 cup shortening 2 cups sifted flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup gran. sugar 1/4 tsp salt 1 egg 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 tlbs grated lemon rind 2 tlbs lemon juice Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, add egg then lemon juice and rind mix well. Add the sifted ingredients and mix, add nuts and mix. Form into a roll about 2 inch diameter, wrap in wax paper and chill. Cut in 1/4 inch slices. Bake in 400º oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
