Chocolate Cake 1/2 cup butter or shortening 1 1/4 cups sugar 2 squares choc. 1/2 tsp salt 1 3/4 cups sifted cake flour 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs slightly beaten 1 tsp soda 1 cup butter milk Cream shortening, add sugar gradually blend well. Add salt, vanilla and eggs. All melted chocolate. Sift flour with soda. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Pour into two buttered 9 inch layer pans. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
