Cream Cake. 1 cup of sugar 1/3 cup of butter 1/2 cup of milk Whites 4 eggs or 2 whole eggs 2 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of B. powder Coffee Cake. Cream together 1 cup of sugar 3/4 cup of butter Add 1/2 cup of cold coffee 1/2 cup of molasses 1 teaspoon of soda Sift 2 cups of pastry flour 1 cup of currants 1 cup of raisins Add a little salt and a little less than 1/2 teaspoonful of cinnamon, ground cloves and allspice + mace. Lastly 2 well beaten eggs.
