Apple Spice Muffins 2 cups sifted flour 2 tsp b. powder 1/2 tsp soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 " nutmeg 1 egg 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk 1/4 " melted shortening 1 cup finely chopped apple Sift flour with b. powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg Combine beaten egg with brown sugar, sour milk and melted fat. Add to flour mixture stirring just enough to moisten Add apples Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full and bake 425 degrees for 25 minutes.
