Virtues of the Potatoe Water in which potatoes have been boiled will remove, mudstains. Apply to the affected parts with a soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly with tepid water. Potatoe water is good for cleaning silk. Pare & grate potatoe into cold water, when all the sediment has settled pour off the clear liquid into another vessel, and wash the silk in this solution. Smear the hands with potatoe water and rub well and it will keep them soft and smooth. Potatoe water will remove tea or coffee stains from table linen. Steep the affected article in this for a few hours, then rinse in several lots of tepid water.
