Delicious Rolls Sift 1 qt of flour: make hole in ce[ntre] into which whip one egg, one teaspo[on] salt, one scant half cupful of sugar and a tablespoonful of melted lard o[r] [b]utter. Mix with a scant pint of [illegible]arm or warm milk, into which [ha]s been dissolved one cake compres[sed] [yea]st. Knead thoroughly and set in a warm place to rise. When light knead again, Roll out [illegible] inch, spread with melted butter [C]ut out with a qt can, fold each r[o]und together grease Arrang[e] [in] pan and when light bake.
