Another way for Election cake Five pounds of flour, 1 do of sugar, 1 do of butter, half a pint of yeast & 7 eggs. Another way 3 pds of flour quarter lb of butter 7 eggs - half a pint of yeast - 14 ounces of sugar, one nutmeg, table spoonful of pearlash Bath Biscuit Two pds of flour, 1 lb of loaf sugar, 3/4 lb of butter, 5 eggs, 5 spoonsful of wine & one ounce of carraway seeds, roll it out & cut with your tins in any form you please. Add a little cream & rose water. Mrs. West's Biscuit Beat a little lard & butter in a pint of milk or rub it into the flour as you like, add 3 eggs & a tea cup of yeast; mix it about the consistency of bread. Sugar biscuit 2 lbs of flour - 1 pd of sugar, half a pd of butter, 4 eggs - a teaspoonful of pearlash in a little milk. Drop on tins.
