Paul Berk's cure for sprains - Dry a lump of potters clay before a fire so that it can be easily pulverized then make a paste of it with the best vinegar poured on hot. Plaster the affected part well with this mixture and as it would otherwise become too hard - keep it well moistened with the vinegar. This remedy has proved successful when no other remedy availed any thing Philadelphia March 24th 54 To cure a felon A felon generally appears on the end of the finger or thumb; it is extremely painful for weeks, and in most instances cripples or disfigures the finger or thumb that falls a [victim?] to it. But it can be easily cured if attended to in time. As soon as the pain is felt, take the fine white skin of an egg which is found inside of the shell.
