Panado To about a quart of water, add two crackers, pounded fine, a few raisins & a little salt. When given to the patient, add sugar, nutmeg & a little brandy or wine (To be strained- Sago Three teaspoonsful of sago stired in cold water, turned in to a quart of boiling water & stirred - add salt, wine, sugar & nutmeg as the patient requires. Arrow root made in the same way- English Barley water - Take a gill of this barley, & boil it in two quarts of water four hours - add a tea cup full of raisins a little salt. Strain it off & add wine, nutmeg & sugar as you like. It takes 10 yds of ticking for Cushion beds, 9 1/2 yds for main part of the bed 9 yds for a common bed -
