Table Beer - A quarter of a pound of hops, 2 quarts of molasses, & a quart of yeast - make half a barrel of Beer Tansy Syrup One quart of water filled with double Tansy, boiled to a pint, add half a pint of brandy, quarter of a pd of loaf sugar. A table spoon ful five or six times a day. Recipe from Doct [Fanar?] For washing Clothes Put the clothes in soak over night put soap on the wristbands & collars then to a pail full of water add one ounce of subcarbonate of soda then boil your clothes in that, one hour - the put them into a tub of cold water enough to wash them - wring them out & put them into a rinse water - then rinse them in a blue water Mrs Jewett To destroy Bed bugs. Mix two ounces of Gum camphor with two ounces of bar soap.
