Flavoring Mahogany Cake 1/2 cup choc. grated, cook with 1/2 cup sweet milk 3 eggs beaten separately 1/2 cup sweet milk very scant tesp. soda 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 1/2 cup butter Pinch of cream of tartar Vanilla Add boiled choc. last Devils Food Cake Part I 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup choc. grated 1/2 cup milk Put on back of stove and disolve & let cool Part II 1 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup butter yolks of 3 eggs Beat to a cream Add first part 2 cups of flour into which has been stirred 1 tesp. soda Spice Cake 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup butter 1/2 cup sweet milk 1 tesp. cinnamon 1/2 tesp. cloves 1 nutmeg 3 eggs 3 cups flour 1 cup stoned raisins 1 tesp. B.P.
