132 Choc Torte choose 1- pkg Nestles choc or 3- square Baker choc bar or 1 Nestle Semi Sweet choc bar. Note if you use bitter choc. add 1/2 c. sugar. in egg yolk. Method Melt choc. with 1/4 c hot water in double boiler, to above add 2 egg yolks & 1 T. sugar stir untill thickened a little cool to room temperture Fold in 2 egg whites beaten stiff. 1/2 pt cream whipped stuff 1 t vanilla 1 c nut meats 15 marsh mellow cut in pieces, Line cake pan with vanilla waffers. pour on choc. mixture and put vanilla crushed wafers on top keep in Ref over nite. serve with whipped cream or plain with nuts on top. serves 8 to 12. Mrs Hochnen Apr 28 1950 Pine apple Torte 14 graham cracker crushed fine - 1/2 # marsh mellow heat " in 1/2 c. milk in double boiler and when disolved let cool, add 1/2 pt cream whipped, and a small can crushed apple 1/2 c nut meats. Use 3/4 of crumbs for bottom and put rest on top with nut meats place in Ref. 4 hrs. serves 8 - 12. Mrs Hochnen Apr. 28- 1950
