Nut Bar squares 3/4 c. butter or shortening 2 c B. sugar diss. 1 tes soda in 1 1/4 c. sour milk 2 1/3 c flour 1 tes B. P. 1 tes cloves 1 tes cinn 1 tes salt 1 tes vanilla put in flat pan frost before baking with 2 eggs whites beaten stiff add 1 c. B. sugar vanilla bake 40 to 45 min in moderate oven Ginger Ice box cookie 1 c. shortening 1 c sugar 1/2 c molasses 2 eggs 4 1/2 c. flour 1 tes ginger 1 tes salt 1 tes soda diss in a little hot water. 4 1/2 c flour or enough to handle dough nicely make in roll and set in cool place or ice box over nite in morning slice and bake add nuts & fruit if wanted
