17 Cake. Kings Daughter's Cake. Cook in double boiler {2 sq. chocolate, 1 egg yolk & 1/2 c. milk Add to {1 c. sugar, 1 tbs. butter, 1/2 c. milk, 1 teas. soda (in hot water), 1 3/4 c. flour. Velvet Sponge or (Hot Milk Cake) 1 c. sugar 1 c. pastry flour 1 t. cr. tartar 1/2 t. soda 1/4 t. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. hot milk Flavoring Beat eggs and add sugar gradually and beat. Add dry ingredients sifted 6 times to-gether. Add hot milk and flavoring and bake in a moderate oven.
