Hanover Biscuits 1 qt of milk make warm, 1 lb of Butter melted in it, 2 eggs, 1/2 pt of yeast, Let them rise, bake on tins. Mother Herr's Ginger Pound Cake 1 lb of flour, 1/2 lb of Butter, 1 pint of Molasses, 1/4 of Sugar, 2 teaspoonsfull of Bread powder, must be mixed dry with the flour, before anything else is added. Buns 3/4 lb of sugar, 1/4 and a half qr of Butter, 4 eggs, 1 large cup of Milk, 1 lb of Flour, light weight (or just sufficient to make a thick batter), spices to suit your taste, 1 large teaspoonful of Tartaric Acid, 1 do of Carbonate Soda, dissolved in seperate cups, in a little water. After the cakes are beat up, ready to bake, first throw in the Carbonate of Soda, and then the Tartaric Acid. Dough Nuts 1 lb of sugar, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon of saleratus, dissolved in a cup of milk, 1 peice of Butter, not larger than a walnut, cinnamon, and Flour enough to make a stiff dough. Roll it out, cut with a [jaging?] iron, bake in fat.
