Cookies 3 eggs, 3 cups of sugar, 1 cup of butter or lard, 1 cup of sour cream (butter milk will do) 1 teaspoonful of Saleratus, season to taste, save a little sugar to put on tops, Orange Cake. 2 cups of sugar, yolks of 5 eggs, whites of 2, 1/2 cup of cold water, 2 1/2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoonsful of baking powder, the juice and grated rind of one Orange, and a pinch of salt, Bake in jelly Cake tins, Beat the whites of 2 eggs to a stiff froth, add 7 large tablespoonsful of powdered sugar, and the grated rind and juice of one orange, spread this between layers. Lemon Pies 2 lemons, 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoonfuls of flour, Bake in four pies. Good.
