Shaker Method of Putting up Corn Cut the corn from the cob. Place it in a tin vessel in a kettle of water; boil the water until the corn in the vessel is cooked nearly enough to eat; then dry on plates in the stove and put up in paper bags. Pickle Cauliflower or Brocoli Keep them twenty-four hours in strong brine and then take them out and heat the brine and pour it on scalding hot and let them stand until next day. Drain them and turn them into spiced vinegar. Pickle Cherries To 1 pk. cherries 1 pt. vinegar. 3 lbs. sugar. Simmer till clear. add a little mace and cloves Chocolate Cakes 1 cup grated chocolate 2 cups of white sugar the whites of four eggs (4 eggs)
