Friday January 4th 1878 I helped with the work this morning and got in an hours practice. I ironed in the afternoon and practiced a little before supper. The weather very cold. Mr Cattrell came back tonight. We have a new boarder to room with Bailey. Mr Doolittle I think we will like him very well. We all went to Sol Smith Russell tonight and were delighted with it. Saturday January 5th 1878 A horribly cold and wintry day. Mother and I worked all day keeping fires and doing a little Saturday's work I got in two hours practice during the day and in the evening I knit and watched the boys play whist. They had two tables going. Sunday January 6th 1877. It was a very cold morning but Mollie and I went to church. I helped get the dinner over and practiced awhile in the afternoon. I read in the evening
