stuff for a poliniase and I got a set of garnet cuff buttons. We heard in town that Maggie was not expected to live through the day. We got a new set of springs for our bed today. I knit a little in the evening and went to bed early. The glorious work of putting down our side walk began this morn under the supervision of Mr. Shriver Friday March 8th 1878 It was a month today since Etta was buried. I was busy about the work all morning. I went down to Robinsons just before noon to hear about Maggie. She was still alive. Mother went to town again. I sewed some in the afternoon and went down to see how they come on with the walk. Weather warm. Saturday March 9th 1878 It rained all day and the men could not work on the walk. I gave Mothers room a good cleaning. And put in all the afternoon doing mending. We got a formal notice today Maggie is dead and will be buried tomorrow.
