town all night. Louise with her friends. Kate and Hatt with some of her friends. I with Lizzie [Sperry?] and the boys at the hotel. I and I guess all the rest were desperately tired. Saturday June 15th 1878 A party of us this morning went over the college grounds and buildings. It was nearly eleven oclock when we got started out to Kates and a lady and gentleman from town went out with us. We had an excellent dinner there and then started on home. The last half of the road was muddy and the traveling slow. We got home at seven oclock tired nearly to death. Mr Owens sisters came at nine oclock and after a little visit we all went to bed. Sunday June 16th 1878 It was rather a pleasant morning but some of us went to church. All in the afternoon we went to the Bacchaloriate sermon. Mifs Cattrell and Hatt went over to Eunis in the evening the rest of us stayed at home. [college grounds = Cornell College, Mt Vernon, Iowa]
